Campus Involvement Isn’t Everything

Employers want dynamic and flexible candiates that will add value to their organization, campus involvement provides structure opportunities to demonstrate that you have devloped  yourself outside of the classroom.  BUT, campus involvement isn’t the only means to achieve this outcome.   Internships, study abroad, community service/volunteer work are also ideal for personal brand development.  Your goal isn’t to do what everyone esle is doing, it is to engage in those activities that will offer you the greatest opportunities to develop yourself.  Get involved in programs, organizations and movements that interest you.  You will then be able to radiate your excitement and passion to your employer  and that will definitely differentiate you from those who are just going through the motions.
