Focus on what you have to offer

Before you even begin to write your resume you must approach it from the perspective of how you are going to add value to your future boss or employer. Many students view  this process by begining with what they are lacking.  They tell me “ I don’t have this…” Or  “I wish I had more of that”.  You are doing more harm than good by focusing on your deficiencies.  I encourage you to target that which you have to offer.  There will always be that student who has a   stellar GPA, fabulous internships, and all the trimmings of that “Wonder Student”. If that’s not you, so what?  It’s not.   Now is your opportunity to focus on what you have.  Focus on what it is you bring to the table, while leaving room to grow and develop in other  areas.
